The next WSIS Forum will take place in Geneva, 13-17th of May, 2013. For further information see the attached file: WSIS FORUM 2013 GKPF is taking an active role in the WSIS Forum 2013. The WSIS Consultations will open on the 8th of October 2012. We would like to consult with the GKPF members on which topics you would like to see addressed in the WSIS Forum and which contribution you can make. So far the themes of new gTLD’s and Internet Governance, Child Online Protection and E-readiness and Capacity building seem to be emerging. We will inform you on the plans regarding each of this topic over the next weeks and month but we are open to your further suggestions and contributions

Great suggestion. I actually think it belongs into both, no capacity building without Gender Equality, on the other hand it would be great for WSIS 2013. Maybe the best way would be to plan something for WSIS 2013 and let the results implemented in the Capacity Building Initiative.

Great idea, Im new here, in fact this was my first intervention. If you can introduce me a little bit about how to work with it and with whom something good can be done.

It's all teamwork here!. If you want to go with the suggestion to plan something for the WSIS forum, first of all there should be a suggestion of what action/event would contribute most towards ICT's and gender equality. What is needed?. Is it an old fashioned panel discussion, is it a publication, is it to create a publication/training?. Whatever, the more creative the better and the more impact on the ground the more valuable. Try to get people to come up with ideas, then decide on which idea to go for and then start implementing it. GKPF will help as much as it can in the process, but everything has to be driven by the participants/members. We can not support as a network something which does not come from the network! I certainly hope that we as a network will be able to get something going.
