Virtual Annual Members Meeting 2008

The 2008 Annual Members' Meeting took place virtually from 3 -16 June 2008 where digital technologies were used to enable equal participation opportunities for members spread across the globe and minimise ecological footprints for GKP’s 11th Annual Members’ Meeting.

Virtual Annual Members Meeting 2007

The 10th Annual Members' Meeting took place virtually for the first time from 12 to 25 June 2007. The Virtual Annual Members' Meeting 2007 provided members with updates on:

GKP membership, GKP network growth strategy and targets via member inreach and outreach, GKP Programmes including Regional Workplans (see 8 GKP Regional Websites) and GK3 preparations

Annual Members Meeting 2006 Sri Lanka

Every year, GKP members convene at the Annual Members' Meeting to discuss issues of concern, share knowledge, and agree on a common course of action for the GKP network. Participants of the meeting engage in wide ranging discussions and debates on ICT policy and practice from a variety of perspectives, and on core issues and concerns shaping the Information Society.

For the year 2006, GKP wanted to focus its outreach efforts on the South Asia region. As part of this focus, GKP planned its annual activities to be held in this region.

 

Annual Members Meeting 2005, Cairo, Egypt

For the year 2005, the GKP has decided to focus on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Following an invitation from the Egyptian Government, the 2005 GKP Annual Meeting was held in Cairo, Egypt and bring together GKP members from around the world and by invitation, ICT4D players from within the MENA region.

 

Annual Members Meeting 2004, San Jose, Costa Rica

Annual Members Meeting 2003, Rome, Italy

The Global Knowledge Partnership held its Annual Meeting in Rome, Italy from 21-23 May 2003. More than 100 representatives from GKP member organizations and specially invited guests attended the event. Overall, 71 organizations from 38 countries were present. The Annual Meeting was graciously hosted by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and was supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the Commonwealth Secretariat.

Annual Members Meeting 2002, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

United Nations Convention Centre, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (4-5 April 2002) The GKP Annual Meeting 2002 was held at the United Nations Convention Centre, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from April 4-5. The African regional meeting was held on the following day (April 6). The annual meeting was hosted by the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). 64 participants from 40 organisations attended the meeting.
