What is GKPF?
The Global Knowledge Partnership Foundation (GKPF), (www.gkpfoundation.org), is a 14 year old membership based, internationally recognized multi stakeholder network with a distinguished and well established track record. GKPF’s globally recognized brand and impartial status as the “world’s first multi-stakeholder network” provides convening power to bring together a broad range of partners for development not only for advancing ICT for development and innovation across the globe but also for advancing their global development mission and goals. It is the only global network with Members from governments, business and civil society. The GKPF places the “member” at the centre of the network. But GKPF is much more than a network, its members bring together Public Sector, Private Sector and Civil Society Organizations with the goal of Sharing Knowledge and Building Partnerships in Knowledge and ICT for Development.
What does GKPF do?
GKPF is proactively creating and implementing win/win situations that respond to the specific needs of the membership organizations. GKPF supports development practitioners and organizations directly by: Facilitating peer-to-peer dialogue on issues and themes at regional and global level; help establish members’ linkages for program/campaign specific partnerships. It influences, leverages and creates synergies between members’ activities; facilitates linkages for mobilizing resources on their specific projects, programs or policy related work – while building coherence in strategies common to all members.
What are the advantages of GKPF membership?
Is GKPF a funding organization?
No, GKPF is not providing direct funding for membership projects, but GKPF provides access of you and your organization to resources that would otherwise not be available. GKPF supports your organization in securing funds, in particular through matching up organizations and funders, bringing organizations together to apply to large scale and volume projects that an individual organization would be too small to execute or to fulfill the monitoring, reporting and evaluation requirements of large funding. Your organization can also receive payment for services which it is providing to others through GKPF supported projects and initiatives like the SDR’s. In the near future members can also use the GKPF online fundraising tools.
What are GKPF SDR’s?
GKPF launched and provides continuity and sustainability to initiatives through strong funding raising and technical assistance for programming, networking and fund-raising. GKPF actively promotes the project to potential donors at every appropriate opportunity and leads to increased funding for implementing the project for further Scaling up, Diffusion and Replication (SDR). New SDR projects be approved for support on an ongoing basis, we will actively try to match up the other GKPF members with existing SDR projects and get them directly involved. GKPF will offer some successful projects from GKPF members to other GKPF members for duplication in their regions. How can a member organization propose a SDR? Please send your proposed project directly to: gkp@gkpfoundation.org After we have received a SDR proposal, GKPF will evaluate your SDR proposal. If your proposal is suitable for GKPF your project becomes an official GKPF SDR. GKPF and your organization will discuss a plan of action and the SDR will enjoy the ongoing support and engagement of GKPF.
