ICT Center of Excellence (ICT CoE) cordially invites GKPF members to join the “The 2nd Ethiopian ICT Innovation/Project Competition 2012” and “ICT Business Plan Competition”. 

This annual program aims to encourage

• Innovation and creativity by inspiring, motivating, and cultivating innovative ideas in ICT software and applications.

• Entrepreneurship, inventiveness, and creativity that will fuel the rapid development of skilled ICT human resources

In these competitions, undergraduate and postgraduate students, non-students, women developers and entrepreneurs nationwide in Ethiopia are invited to submit their innovations/projects/ideas, and business plans. The Business Plan Competition encourages and arms entrepreneurs with a key and critical skill needed to succeed in business.

This year, ICT CoE is adding a separate category in the two competitions that is just for “Women Developers” because they are very under-represented at various levels of ICT. This was very clear in last year’s competitions that ICT CoE had run, and is very visible from the various statistics about women’s participation in ICT. The addition of this additional category aims to encourage the participation of women in ICT, and specifically their active role in innovation and entrepreneurism.
