Dear Friends
As the CEO of the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), I am writing to seek your participation and support for this year’s edition of the WISE Awards.

WISE was inaugurated by Qatar Foundation in 2009 under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation. It is a year-round initiative and global platform devoted to harnessing the expertise of multiple stakeholders and providing creative solutions to today’s educational challenges. WISE is the only international and multi-sectoral initiative for innovation in education that nurtures new approaches and collaborations, recognizes and supports cutting-edge practices, and helps to share them on a large scale.

In parallel with the annual Summit, the WISE Awards identify and promote successful innovative educational projects from around the world for their proven impact and potential for scalability. The success of the WISE Awards depends on attracting high-quality applications from a diversity of backgrounds and sectors. I therefore invite you to support us in identifying the upcoming educational best practices by encouraging project holders within your organization and your professional network to apply for this year’s edition.

Applications for the 2013 WISE Awards will be accepted from February 7 to March 31, 2013. The winning projects will benefit from the recognition of leading experts as well as considerable international visibility and publicity. They will be celebrated at a Gala Dinner during WISE 2013, to be held on October 29 to 31, 2013 in Doha. Each project will also receive a prize of $20,000 (US).

You will find attached the 2013 WISE Awards brochure and official application form. For further information on the process and regulations, please visit the WISE website: wise-qatar.org/awards.

I would be very grateful if you could pass information about the 2013 WISE Awards on to your contacts to help ensure that remarkable educational projects receive the recognition they deserve.

Yours sincerely,

Stavros N. Yiannouka
